Longest lasting – Single-ply EPDM flat roofing systems are the longest lasting of the three commercial roofing systems we offer. A proper, professional, well-designed and constructed EPDM roof will outperform almost any other roofing system. This type of roof can last at least 20-30 years with proper maintenance and upkeep.
Light-weight – EPDM 60 MIL membrane is only half a pound per square; like most membranes, EPDM membrane can be fully adhered or mechanically attached. It is significantly lighter than your average asphalt shingle, which weighs roughly 2.3 lbs per square foot.
Energy efficiency – Single-ply EPDM flat roofing systems are a good option regardless of whether you live in a hot or cold region. In the cold North, you might prefer black EPDM due to its ability to absorb heat and help warm the inside of your building. In the warmer South, some businesses choose the ECO white EPDM membrane which reflects the sun’s heat and helps reduce the cooling bill.
Wide operating temperature range – It has a minimum operating temperature of -40º F and a maximum operating temperature of 300º F.
High-wind resistant – Because EPDM comes in large sheets or rolls, and the seams are correctly fully adhered, there are no edges for the wind to get under and pick up. Asphalt shingles and tiles, although these are manufactured in much smaller pieces, are more prone to being blown off.
